This iPhone and iPad guide explains the Safari and Files steps that happen around a TikTok video download. It covers copying the public link, using the downloader in a full browser, finding the saved file, handling media that opens in a tab instead of downloading immediately, and checking Safari download settings. Use the video tool for the file itself; use this guide for iOS-specific behavior.
Download a TikTok video on iPhone
Copy the TikTok Video Link
In TikTok, open Share and choose Copy link.
Open TokLup in Safari
Paste the public TikTok URL into the video downloader above.
Download the Video
Tap Download TikTok Video and wait for the available video file.
Save the File in Safari
Use the download action. If the video opens, use Safari’s share or save controls.
Find the Video in Files
Open Safari Downloads or the Files app and check the configured Downloads location.
How Safari saves TikTok video downloads
Safari can show a Downloads control after a file begins saving. Your chosen download location may be iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, or another folder configured in Safari settings.
The final folder is controlled by Safari and iOS, so check your browser download settings if the file is not where you expected.
Find the TikTok video in the Files app
Open Files and check the Downloads folder in the location Safari uses. Safari’s own download list can also take you directly to a recently saved file.
From Files, you can rename, move, share, or open the video in another compatible app.
If the TikTok video opens instead of downloading
Safari may sometimes open a video directly. Use the browser share or save controls to store the file rather than pressing the download button repeatedly.
If a new tab or download action is blocked, allow the normal site action and retry once.
iPhone download tips
Use Safari or another full browser instead of TikTok’s in-app browser when you need clearer file controls. Make sure the iPhone has enough free storage for the video.
A browser download saved in Files does not always appear automatically in Photos. You can use iOS sharing options later if you want to move a permitted video into Photos.
- Keep Safari open while a large file is still downloading.
- Use a stable connection for longer videos.
- Only download media you have permission to save.
